Crowns (or caps) are dental restorations that are placed over a tooth when conservative restorations are insufficient to restore proper long-term form and function. They are custom made by a highly skilled dental laboratory technician who works closely with Dr. Michael Payne.
Inlays, onlays and partial crowns are similarly made and, when appropriate, are less invasive alternatives to full crowns that cover the entire tooth. Modern dentistry has provided us with several wonderful crown materials including the most natural looking ceramics ever available. Whether ceramic, metal or a combination of both, Dr. Payne will discuss all treatment options with the patient and together they will choose the one that works best.
